Dear {{Recipient.FirstName}},
The 2023-24 Rotary year is now well underway. Last month I shared with you two key goals for RAGCED during this year:
Goal #1: Get more Rotary Global and District Grants in the Community Economic Development area of focus.
Goal #2: Create a more effective support structure to accomplish goal #1 and increase the value of RAGCED membership.
This month I’d like to focus on the role of our committees in achieving our goals. I believe that a fundamental part of RAGCED’s success depends upon having strong committees to carry out our work. As I mentioned last month, we now have eight different committees doing our work. Each one is looking for more people who are enthusiastic about economic development to help accomplish our goals. Just as individual Rotary clubs accomplish more with strong multi-member committees, so does RAGCED. Here’s a quick summary of what each one does, as well as an email link in case you’d like to learn more.
Operations: This committee is focused on helping Rotarians and Rotaractors with all aspects of Global and District Grants. This includes finding partners, preparing grants, and finding funding, all part of creating a worldwide help desk for the Rotary World for all things related to economic development.
Education: This committee is focused on providing educational programs and useful materials related to economic development.
Partnerships: This committee is focused on helping Rotarians and Rotaractors to connect with economic development resources both outside and inside Rotary to help achieve their economic development goals.
Communications/Public Image: This committee focuses on letting the world know what RAGCED is doing, through a website, social media, and other communications methods.
Foundation: RAGCED has its own foundation, called the Economic Development and Empowerment Foundation, a USA 501c3 charity. Our foundation complements the Rotary Foundation, especially in cases where the Rotary Foundation isn’t the right charitable organization.
Administration: RAGCED always needs help from people great with administrative skills and a passion for keeping everything organized.
Finance: RAGCED also always needs help from financial professionals. If you live and breathe “finance”, this might be your place.
Membership: RAGCED is looking for help to grow our organization in all parts of the Rotary world. That means bringing RAGCED as close as possible to the individual club level. If this is your thing, please consider this.
If any of this looks interesting to you, I strongly encourage you to join RAGCED and get involved with one of our committees. If you’re already involved with Rotary, no doubt you’ve got both passions as well as important skills. We’d like to gain the benefit of your knowledge, passion, and professional network to help promote true sustainability and empowerment through economic development.
