Carl Treleaven has been a Rotarian since 1991, first as a member of the Crescent Rotary Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, and since 2006 as a member of the Rotary Club of St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. He served as District Governor of District 6950 in 2011-12, as District Rotary Foundation Future Vision Chair in 2012-13, District Rotary Foundation Chair for 2013-16, and as Zone 34 Endowment/Major Gifts Advisor during 2015-18. He and his wife, Lina, have participated in multiple polio immunization efforts in India, Nigeria, and Pakistan. He presently serves on the Governance Committee of RAGCED.
He is Chairman of EM Labels, a specialty label printing company, and also heads Westlake Ventures, which invests in seedand other early stage companies.
Carl is also Chairman of Smile Asia, a federation of cleft lip and palate charities in Asia, as well as its USA affiliate, and Treasurer of the Microfinance Empowerment Foundation.
He has a BA from Rice University and an MBA from Dartmouth College. Previously, he was a CPA in Texas and North Carolina.
Carl and his wife have two adult children and one grandson, the latter being the one who gets all the attention.
