You'll also have the opportunity to connect with potential partners for your economic development activities. If you're interested in volunteering at the booth, sign up here.
The RAGCED Project Fair is an opportunity to tell people about your project or hear from others about their project. To participate, submit your completed application form (attached) to Nesta Hatendi at click-to-email by May 6, 2024. On May 28th at 4:30 pm SGT, join us in Room Heliconia 3425 for discussions on the selected 7 presentations, fostering potential collaborations. Additional presentations, meeting the selection criteria will be uploaded on the RAGCED website for further engagement. For inquiries, contact us at click-to-email.
On Wednesday, May 29 plan to attend the RAGCED Breakout “Village Savings Groups–Eliminating Poverty Locally.” The breakout session is from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in Jasmine 3905. Village Savings Groups enable poor communities to overcome poverty through participation in their own economies. A partnership of Rotary and World Vision/Vision fund is developing a village savings group global grant with a budget of USD 780,000. The grant is based on the VisionFund FAST model that will include more than 11,000 direct beneficiaries and improve the lives of 60,000 people in rural Uganda. You will discover how securing life, hope, and a future for the most vulnerable by providing economic opportunity will help break the local generational cycle of poverty.
Community economic development is a critical element of projects in the other areas of focus. Watch for RAGCED engagement in presentations and activities of other action groups. Talk to RAGCED volunteers who can help you understand the economic impact of a program even if that is not the direct intent of your project.
If you are a member of RAGCED stop by our booth and introduce yourself. If you are not yet a member you will be able to join RAGCED or add your email to our mailing list.
